Bourke & District Children’s Services (BDCS) is a not-for-profit children's service situated on the banks of the Darling River in Western NSW at Bourke. We run a Childcare Centre, Preschool, Mobile Play Group and Toy Library.

BDCS works collaboratively with other agencies, organisations, schools, and health care providers to support families, develop links to culture, build capacity of the child and community, nurture a lifelong love of learning and improve outcomes for the children of Bourke and District.

ABOUT THE ROLE:
BDCS Connected Beginnings - Bourke is offering a Full-time role of Community Facilitator. In this position you will work with the Project Director and Capacity Facilitator to collaborate with the Community and Stakeholders as part of the Maranguka Early Childhood Working Group and align the work of the Connected Beginnings Project.

ABOUT YOU:
To be successful you will need:​

Experience in education, community development, social services, health, business or related area, and demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.

Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
-
High level interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills and the ability to resolve conflict.
-
Experience in working across community and building relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.
-
An understanding of the issues affecting the local Aboriginal community.

Ability to generate concise and accurate reports, briefing papers and other documentation.
-
A current NSW Working with Children Check or be eligible to obtain.
-
A current Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check or be willing to obtain.
-
To be an Australian Resident or equivalent or holder of a visa allowing permanent employment in Australia.​​

Hold a current class C, P1 or P2 drivers’ licence or be eligible to obtain.
DESIRABLE SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:
The following criteria are considered highly desirable:

Qualifications in Early Childhood Education and Care or willingness to obtain.

Understanding of children’s services, funding and gaps in current service delivery environment.
-
Existing relationships with a range of stakeholders in the local or regional area.
