ABOUT US:

Bourke & District Children’s Services (BDCS) is a not-for-profit children's service situated on the banks of the Darling River in Western NSW at Bourke. We run a Childcare Centre, Preschool, Mobile Play Group and Toy Library.

BDCS works collaboratively with other agencies, organisations, schools, and health care providers to support families, develop links to culture, build capacity of the child and community, nurture a lifelong love of learning and improve outcomes for the children of Bourke and District.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Administrator Officer will provide general administrative support to the organisation, including reception tasks and finance-related duties. This role is essential for the smooth running of the service and keeping it in line with relevant regulations, policies, and procedures.

​

SELECTION CRITERIA:

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

  • Experience with accounting software, experience with ‘Xero’, ‘DEXT’, or ‘Employment Hero’ highly regarded, however not essential

  • Experience with IT and Microsoft Office systems

  • Proven high level attention to detail and accuracy, with the demonstrated ability to research, think analytically and plan work with proven problem-solving skills and the ability to apply knowledge and experience to issues to develop potential options and recommendations for their resolution

  • Experience in payroll would be highly regarded however not essential

  • A high standard of customer service skills

DESIRABLE SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:

  • Experience using project management software (for example, Smartsheet)

  • Experience with childcare management systems (for example, Xplor)

 

ABOUT YOU:

To be successful you will need:​

  • A current NSW Working with Children Check or be eligible to obtain. 

  • A current Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check or be willing to obtain. 

  • To be an Australian Resident or equivalent or holder of a visa allowing permanent employment in Australia.​​
